In September of 1974, after a year of Bible study and prayer, three families initiated public services in a private home on Rt. 521. In 1975 the church hired their first full-time pastor and incorporated with the Evangelical Free Church of America.
In January of 1976, needing more space, the congregation accepted Blair Academy's offer of Memorial Hall for Workship Services and Sunday School rooms. With 60-plus in the congregation, this was a period of growth for the church.
In January of 1985, property was purchased on Lambert Road. Ground was broken in the Spring of 1987 and the first building was occupied in the Summer of 1988. With this new facility and the additional space, existing ministries expanded, new ministries were started, and the work of the church grew. Because of continued growth, two worship services were started and the auditorium of North Warren Regional High School was used for our Easter Services. Five new classrooms were completed on the upper level as well.
In May of 2000, we dedicated and began to fully use the addition of a multipurpose room and classrooms, expanded lobby area and new church offices. This doubled the size of our facility and serves well the 350-plus individuals that attend.
Throughout the churches growth, the EFC of Blairstown has always been committed to a full and balanced ministry for the whole family.
